We had a wide-ranging and engaging Committee Meeting this month that included the Ramblers Values, BW’s turn to host the Area AGM in 2025, upcoming ‘Drinks with The Committee’ events, our planned trips for next year and of course, celebratory plans for our 25th Anniversary year!
At the Ramblers our values include inclusivity, inspiration, passion, empowerment and responsibility as we believe in removing barriers so that everyone can enjoy walking in the beautiful countryside around us.
For BW, 2025 will be a very special year as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary. In March we will be re-walking the first-ever BW walk, and for those who enjoy a challenge, there will be a super-long 25 mile walk!! (I suggest joining some walks beforehand to get you prepared!). As the weather heats up, so will our ambitions, as we host our summer spectacular ceilidh! Keep an eye on our website or on Meetup for details of all our events.
We will also be running plenty of other 25th Anniversary themed walks and if you have any ideas or wish to lead a walk, get in touch.

Drinks with Committee events will return in 2025, with the first one in Jan or Feb.
In November 2025 BW, in collaboration with Berkshire Weekend Walkers, will host the 2025 Area AGM. There will be walks, talks and a chance to get-together with other local Ramblers groups.
We have outlined plans for some fantastic trips for 2025. In April, over the Easter weekend, there will be walks over the Itchen Way and attendees can join in the fun by finding local accommodation or the walks can be easily accessed from Berkshire, if you prefer the comforts of home! There will also be two long weekend trips to seaside locations in Swanage and Weston-Super-Mare. But the trips won’t stop there as we hope to announce a trip to more mountainous terrain as well, as these have been hugely popular in previous years.
