This walk will start at Theale Station at 10.20 am. We will head along the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath for a short way before beginning our circular route around Sulhampstead. The route heads out towards Whitehouse Green and then through the Boarmoor Wood to Sulhampstead Abbots. We will continue past Ufton Nervet and alongside the Ashen Wood and Normoor Copse before climbing the hill to Old Farm. The route then heads in the direction of Aldermaston Wharf before returning to Theale across fields and then finally rejoining the towpath. This is a nice varied route with paths along the canal, through woodland and across fields, with 180 m total ascent (not bad for Berkshire)!

Please make sure that you bring a packed lunch with you and plenty of water. Parts of the route are muddy and were a bit waterlogged in places when I walked it two weeks ago so good waterproof boots are essential!

If you are coming by train, please take the 10.09 from Reading arriving at 10.16 or the 10.01 from Newbury arriving at 10.13. The walk will start at 10.20 and there is parking available at the station, although charges do apply.
