We will meet at Theale station for a 10.50am start. If you are coming from Reading, take the 10.40am train arriving at Theale at 10.47am. Or if you are coming from Newbury, take the 10.06am train arriving at Theale 10.24am. If the train is late, the start of the walk will be too. Parking is available at the station (charges will apply).

As we leave Theale station we head South away from the station towards the Kennet and Avon Canal. Did you know the Kennet and Avon Canal is 87 miles from – starts in Reading and ends in Bristol (or the other way round – whichever way you look at it). We are only walking along 2 miles of it.

Once we leave the canal we head up towards the small village of Sulhamstead. Following the lovely and peaceful footpaths of Berkshire. Our walk will continue with us heading towards Hosehill Lake and heading back to the Kennet and Avon Canal and making our way back to the start at Theale train station.

Please be aware that the tow path could be busy at times to please be considerate to other path users and step to the side to let people past – but also don’t forget to say ‘HI’ or Thank You’.

This is an easy graded walk as it’s mainly flat. Please bring a drink and some lunch for the walk.
