Due to Government and Ramblers restrictions, all walks are limited to 5 walkers + the Walk Leader. Please do not turn up for a walk without prior booking, as we will have to turn you away.
Due to COVID-19, we all need to take extra steps to stay safe. Please follow all safety advice given by the walk leader, including the latest guidelines on physical distancing while out walking.
Please follow the latest government guidelines on the use of public transport and car sharing. It is recommended that you bring hand sanitizer or gloves in case you need to touch gates/stiles/etc. It is also recommended that you bring a face covering, in case of emergencies. If you or someone else from your household has COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend.
Meet at Aldermaston station for a 12.30pm start. If you are coming from Reading, take the 12.09pm arriving at Aldermaston at 12.23pm. If the train is late, the start of the walk will be too. Parking is available at the station (charges will apply).
This walk will take us away from the station along the quiet footpaths towards Aldermaston village along Fisherman Lane. We will pass through the village and up towards Wasing Park before heading down past the small airfield in Brimpton (weather permitting we may see a small plane or 2 taking off or landing). We continue on along the public footpaths towards Woolhampton when we join the Kennet and Avon Canal and make our way back to the start at Aldermaston.
This is an easy walk which is relatively flat. The footpaths may be a bit muddy so please wear suitable footwear.
Please bring a drink for the walk. There is no lunch stop as this is an afternoon walk. There will be no pub stop on this walk.
