Walk details

We start by ascending Beacon Hill. This is a short but steep part of the walk. The reward is views across Hampshire and Berkshire. The challenging part of the walk now complete we will cross the A35 to Old Burghclere and then head north. The lunch stop will be in Earlstone Common. If we’re lucky we may be able to see a Deer here. Shortly after lunch we will stop at the Carpenter’s Arms. Once refreshed, the route follows part of the old Southampton to Didcot railway line and other tracks until we reach old Burghclere. From here it’s a short walk back to the car park.
