Meet outside Langley station in time for a 10:30am start.  If travelling from Reading, take the 10:03am service, which arrives at 10:28am.  Buy a return to Langley and a single from Cookham to Maidenhead.

Starting from Langley station, we will take the whole day to walk 14 miles to Cookham, along the Beeches Way in South Buckinghamshire.  A great chance to do a longer walk ahead of the Lake District trip in May. We’ll have a couple of pub stops to take a break along the way.   The walk weaves through woodland, heathland and countryside, including Langley Park, Stoke Common and Burnham Beeches.  We will walk at a moderate pace, getting to Cookham by late afternoon/early evening.  Planned pub stops are the Black Horse in Fulmer, and the Blackwood Arms in Littleworth Common.

Return trains from Cookham to Maidenhead are currently one per hour (21 minutes past the hour).   Depending on timing, Cookham has a range of cafes and pubs to wait in, and perhaps have a bite to eat.

NOTE: This is a linear walk, and could be muddy in a couple of places.

As usual, bring a packed lunch and something to drink.
