Meet at 6.10pm the car park of the Cunning Man pub. The walk leader intends to be on the number 2 ‘lime’ bus, leaving stop EP in Blagrave Street in central Reading at 5.45pm; this stops outside the pub and should arrive in plenty of time. Parking is also available at the pub.
This is a circular walk beginning and ending at the Cunning Man at Burghfield Bridge. We will start walking west along the canal before leaving at Hissey’s Bridge. Crossing the railway line, we will continue by following the Holy Brook through the Calcot and Southcote Linear Parks. Rejoining the canal at Southcote Lock, we will return to the pub along the towpath.
There will be a visit to the Cunning Man, with an option for food, at the end of the walk.
