Meet at 10:30 in the main car park in Burnham Beeches on Lord Mayors Drive (SL2 3PS). There is a daily parking charge of £3 applying. If getting public transport from Reading, please get the 9:15 to Slough, followed by the X74 Bus to Farnham Common which departs from Slough Bus Station Bay 6 at 9:50. The walk leader will meet anyone taking public transport at the bus stop and walk with them to the start point so please inform the leader in advance if you are planning to get there via this option.

NOTE: If you are driving from Reading area, please be aware that there will be a closure of the M4 from J8/9 to J6 so please allow plenty of time to get to the start point on the day, particularly with the pub booking described below being at 12:15.

This is mainly aimed for people who were not able to get on the joint walk with the Weekend Walkers 2 weekends previously. The start of the walk will take us through the main nature reserve in Burnham Beeches and its several diverse features before heading through Whitespark Wood and towards the village of Hedgerley where we will have our lunch stop. The walk leader has secured a booking of two tables of six (under cover, in the event of rain!) at the White Horse Pub, with the option of having lunch there.

After lunch, we will head on towards the village of Fulmer and onto the SSSI at Stoke Common which provides a habitat to some rare plants and animals as well as being radiant with heather and silver birch. We will then have a second “pub stop” on the Common so please bring along a preferred beverage to enjoy on the day.

The final part of the walk will then take us back to Burnham Beeches through Farnham Common. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink, as well as an extra drink/snack to have for the additional stop.

Book a place on this walk by completing the Google Form. We will only use the contact information you provide to get in touch about the walk, or to share if requested with NHS Test and Trace.

If after booking, you need to cancel your place on the walk, please email walking@berkshirewalkers.co.uk so that we can make your place available to someone else.

Please only contact the leader with queries about the walk or if you are delayed on the day.
