Join us on this circular walk through the pretty countryside of Buckinghamshire. Meet at 10.30am at the Lord Mayor’s Drive car park at Burnham Beeches. The car park is fairly large but to be environmentally friendly why not car share where possible? Parking charges apply and at time of writing the cost is Β£3.

From the car park we’ll walk east passing through woodland to Stoke Common, a site of special scientific interest. The common is mainly lowland heathland, one of the rarest natural habitats in Britain and home to numerous plant and animal species. After crossing the common we’ll head towards the village of Hedgerley before meandering through
Egypt woods back towards Burnham Beeches.

Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink. There will be a pub stop either at the White horse in Hedgerley or The Blackwood Arms (a very difficult choice!).

The route is largely through woodland, heathland and fields so may be potentially muddy. Please wear suitable footwear.

If given enough notice the organiser can offer a lift from Wokingham station.
