This walk will provide us with PLENTY of Bluebells! When I pre-walked this walk a few weeks ago we saw many carpets of bluebells ready to burst out into flower! We were just a few weeks to early hence putting this walk on now…these should now be out in full flower!

We will meet at Goring and Streatley station for a 10.15am start. If you are coming from Reading, take the 09.53am train arriving at Goring and Streatley at 10.05am. If the train is late, the start of the walk will be too. Parking is available at the station (charges will apply).

We will head away from Goring and Streatley station towards Cleeve. Before heading out in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. Here we may start getting glimpses of the spring flowers and the hedgerows waking from their winter sleep.

The walk will take us through a variety of woodlands, this includes:
Battle Plantation
Wroxhill Woods
Dean Wood
Little Oaken Wood
Blackbirds Bottom
Great Chalk Wood

Going through these woodlands will provide colourful blue carpets of the Bluebells.

When we pre-walked this walk we also did see a lot of Pheasants, Squirrels and Rabbits! So not only are you getting flowers you are getting wildlife included too!

Walking from Goring wouldn’t be the same without coming back to the start along a stretch of the River Thames!!

This is a medium graded walk mainly due to the distance but does have a couple of small hills. The footpaths may be a bit muddy so please wear suitable footwear. Please bring a drink and some lunch for the walk.
