This circular walk from Cookham promises yet more bluebells as it winds its way through Bisham Woods, just across the river from Marlow. So here’s another chance to sign up for a bluebell walk before they disappear, if you missed out on the previous ones!

Meet in the car park at Cookham station at 10:40am, shortly after the arrival of the 10:29 service from Maidenhead. From Reading, take the 10:06 and change at Maidenhead. The walk leader will be on these trains – if they are delayed, then the walk will be. If driving, charges will apply (via APCOA) to park in the station car park, otherwise please park legally and considerately nearby.

The walk heads west out of Cookham, across the fields and through Cookham Dean, to the edge of Bisham Woods. We will make a circuit of these, including both the upper and lower parts of the hillside on which the woods are situated – taking in their varied flora including hopefully some good displays of bluebells at this time of year!

We’ll eventually leave the woods, following the ridgeline overlooking the Thames, which offers some fantastic views across to Marlow and beyond, skirting the edges of Cock Marsh and the golf course as we make our way back into Cookham. Trains run every hour back to Maidenhead, with connecting services back to Reading and elsewhere.

Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water, and suitable footwear for a few short steep sections on the route, which may be slippery if there has been recent rain.

Book a place on this walk by completing the Google Form. We will only use the contact information you provide to get in touch about the walk, or to share if requested with NHS Test and Trace.

If after booking, you need to cancel your place on the walk, please email walkbookings@berkshirewalkers.co.uk so that we can make your place available to someone else.

Please only contact the leader with queries about the walk or if you are delayed on the day.
