The first part of a double header walk covering Cookham, Marlow and Maidenhead, this part will cover Maidenhead and the south of Cookham. You have the choice of doing this part, the other part covering Cookham Dean and Marlow, or both!

Walk details

After the success of our Whitchurch/Goring double header last month, we are repeating the concept again, this time towards the eastern part of our county!

This part will take us through Cookham village and onto the Thames Path, which we will follow all the way to Boulters Lock in Maidenhead. After an optional wander around Boulters Island, we will then pass through some residential streets and on to the Green Way, where we will pass through Widbrook Common and back into Cookham, where we will enjoy our packed lunch at the end of the walk just opposite the Crown pub. After lunch, you would be welcome to join for a quick drink at the Crown. If you’re doing the second part, we will then head back to the station to meet anyone just doing that part.

Travel details

If coming from Reading, please get the 10:06 train and change at Maidenhead and get the 10:29 for Cookham. If either train is delayed, then the start of the walk will also be delayed.

Parking available at Cookham where charges apply.
