An easy walk from Didcot Parkway station, out into the countryside around Didcot. A brush past the Wittenham Clumps and into Long Wittenham before returning to the start point at Didcot Parkway Station.

Walk details

We will start this walk with us heading out from the station and going north past Ladygrove Lakes. After leaving the sights of Didcot behind us we make our way out into the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. Stopping at a suitable location to enjoy the views and the contents of our lunchboxes!

With Didcot Power Station no longer looming over us since its demolition (the Oxfordshire landscape will not look the same without them!) we will head towards the Wittenham Clumps. Brushing past the clumps we will walk to Long Wittenham with the option of a stop for a drink in The Plough pub.

Once suitably refreshed we will start our walk back to Didcot. Walking close to the Power Station we can see how big these monster chimneys really are! Heading back into Didcot we join the urban sprawl of housing estates that have popped up over the last 10–15 years.
