Walk details

Leaving from Goring railway station, we will go through the quaint village, over the River Thames and the Goring Gap, and then into Streatley. From here, we will start the ascent up to the top of the Ridgeway – a route that has provided passage for people for over 5,000 years, away from the boggy lowlands. On the Ridgeway you’ll experience wide, open views of rolling chalk downland and maybe even some archaeological monuments.

We will stop along the Ridgeway for lunch, taking in the surroundings, before continuing northwest on the Ridgeway, which will take us past Langdon Hill and Chalk Hill Bottom. We will then cross to the village of Aston Tirrold, where we will skirt the edge of the village, and continue our trek to Cholsey.
