Worth Matravers is a pretty little village with (handily) a good car park and a tea shop (oh, and a pub for those who want).  It sits on the cliff a mile north of St Adhelm’s Head – the most southerly part of the Dorset coastline. We’ll set out from the car park (SY974777) at 10:30am and head up to Hill Bottom, down from the top of the hill and proceed to the bottom, by the bay.  After a quick paddle (it is November, after all) our walk will ascend steeply to the top of the cliffs, which we’ll follow over Emmetts Hill and on to St Adhelm’s Head. The path drops to the coast, walking beneath the ancient field-systems to browse the bottom and see the combe at Seacombe Bottom. The walk then ascends more gently back to Worth Matravers, where there will be time to visit the local watering hole before heading off home.

We’ll have a packed lunch on the walk, and there will be the opportunity of a pub stop at the end.
