Do you fancy showing off your skills on the ice, or giving it a try for the first time?
Why not follow up the first of our Winter Staycation walks with a visit to Reading’s very own temporary ice rink in Forbury Gardens?
We’ll aim for the 5:00-5:45pm session, and it’s recommended to arrive 15 minutes beforehand to give you plenty of time to get your skates etc. and make the most of the session. Although you can buy tickets on the day, it could be a busy day so booking in advance is advisable ( with a 99p booking fee, or you can probably do so on site).
Those coming straight from the walk should be in good time in which case some of us will probably have a drink in the bar beforehand from around 4ish – call or text the organiser if you can’t find us. According to the website, there are cloakroom facilities (£2 per item) which may be useful if you’ve still got your rucksack with you!
For those who’d like food or drinks afterwards, there are several food stalls and a bar there, or we can move to a nearby pub.
