This circular walk will commence from Goring and Streatley railway station at 10:45. This is shortly after the arrival of the 10:23 from Reading, which arrives at 10:36. The walk leader will be on this train so if this train is delayed, the start of the walk will also be delayed.

From the station we will make our way towards the Thames path, passing the former home of George Michael. After following the path for a mile and a half we make our way up to Great Chalk Wood. This is the first of five woods on this walk. We then proceed to Woodcote – via Blackbirds Bottom and Little Oaken Wood – where we will have our first pub stop.

We then make our way back to Goring via Dean Wood, High Wood, Grigg’s Wood and the Chiltern Way. If time allows we will have a second pub stop here.

This walk will be a mixture of shady woodland, paths and meadows and will include some great views. There are a couple of steep climbs, but these are only very short.

Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink.
