Meet us at the pay and display Riverside car park just to the east of Wallingford Bridge. If you allow time you may be able to park elsewhere for a cheaper option. The X40 bus service from Reading is scheduled to arrive in Wallingford at around 10am, please check nearer the time should you wish to arrive via this route.

The walk takes us in a southerly direction near to Crowmarsh Gifford which was home to one Jethro Tull, inventory of the seed drill, in the eighteenth century. We will traverse over mainly well made footpaths, including the Ridgeway, onwards to North Stoke. Eventually we turn east taking care to cross the A4074 before we reach our pub stop.

If you have not been to the King William pub before, it is a delight with our view only being spoiled by a few wandering sheep perhaps. We return to the start point via a different section of the Ridgeway. Possible ice cream stop at end of walk.

Please bring packed lunch, water, sun tan lotion and sun hat as there is next to no overhead cover today and allow for a pub stop during walk.

Lift available from walk leader from Reading if given enough notice.
