Meet at Kintbury station upon arrival of the 11:35 from Reading at 12:02. If the train is delayed then the start of the walk will also be delayed. Parking is available at the station where charges apply.
The walk will begin by following the Kennet and Avon Canal east towards Hamstead Lock. We will then turn off and make our way through Hamstead Park to Hamstead Marshall. There will be a brief bit of roadside walking before passing a couple of farms and heading over Irish Hill to Shepherds Bridge before making our way back to Kintbury.
Pub stop at the end of the walk at the Dundas Arms whilst we wait for the train back.
Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink.
Given that at this time of year it is likely to be very muddy and possibly waterlogged in certain parts, please ensure you wear suitable footwear.
