Part of the Windsor double header weekend, meet at Sunningdale train station at 10:15am, where the walk will begin upon arrival of the 9:43 from Reading (Wokingham 9:56). If the train is delayed then the start of the walk will also be delayed.

For those coming from Reading, please buy 2 singles, one for the inward journey to Sunningdale and the other from Windsor & Eton Central via Slough.

For those coming from Wokingham, please buy a return to Windsor & Eton Riverside which will allow travel via both Slough and Staines.

The walk will start by passing through Sunningdale woodland as well as its recreational ground as well as pass by its local church. We will then head through Coworth Park, known for its polo playing fields, before entering Windsor Great Park near Virginia Water Lake. Taking in views of the Lake, we will then explore Valley Gardens heading on towards our lunch stop around Obelisk Pond.

We will then exit the Virginia Water part of the park and enter the Deer Park, with the chance to catch glimpses of what this part of the Park is named after. After pausing to look at the Copper Horse statue, we will then follow the Long Walk towards Windsor Castle where the walk will conclude.

Pub stop at the end at the Carpenters Arms in Windsor where the leader intends to have an extended stop there into the evening, with everyone welcome to join.

Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink.
