GWR’s new timetable starts today, heralding the biggest shake up of train times on the GWR network in 40 years.  Today also sees TFL taking control of some of the stopping services between Reading and London on the Elizabeth Line.  So, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to start a walk on this line so we can travel on the shiny new trains!

Meet outside Langley station in time for a 11:00am start. If coming from Reading, take the 10:23am departure (10:29am Twyford, 10:38am Maidenhead, 10:48am Slough), which arrives at Langley at 10:52am. The walk leader will be on this train, so if the train is delayed, the start of the walk will be too.

After leaving Langley, we follow the Grand Union Canal. Passing under the M25, we make our way towards West Drayton. We will go past Little Britain lake, and then follow the Colne Valley Trail back to Langley, this time crossing over the M25.

Trains back to Reading every half hour.
