Meet just outside the main concourse of Oxford Railway Station for a 11am start. The walk leader aims to be on 10.18 departure from Reading scheduled to arrive at 10.47. If train is delayed, the start time of walk may be affected. If driving please utilise Oxford Park and Ride scheme or free parking should be available in nearby Osney Industrial Estate.

This lovely stroll takes in a Nature Reserve, a quaint village, good views of historic Oxford and a stretch of riverside walking. Oh, and a rather unusual folly en route as well. Happy Valley? A popular nickname rewarded to Chiswell Valley many years ago as people are always in a good mood when visiting apparently.

Much of the walk is on well made footpaths, some of which are concrete. Mud should be minimal. The plan is to have a Riverside pub stop near Iffley lock a couple of miles before end of walk with optional further pub visits at conclusion of walk. An option to visit any we may have missed on September’s social should there be suitable demand.

Please bring usual picnic lunch, something to drink and allow for at least one pub stop.
