This walk will start outside Chilworth Station at 11:10am, shortly after the arrival of the 10:20am departure from Reading (arr Chilworth 11:04). The walk leader will be on the train, so if the train is delayed, the start of the walk will be too. If you plan on driving to the walk, then I recommend parking at Guildford Station (charges apply), and joining the train there (the train leaves Guildford at 10:56am).
Following the Downs Link and the Fox Way, we’ll walk through Blackheath, before making our way to the pretty village of Shere. Here, we’ll stop for lunch by the Tillingbourne, and there will also be an opportunity to visit one of the pubs in the village.
After lunch, we’ll make our way to the Silent Pool, before a steady climb up onto the North Downs Way. We’ll then follow the North Downs Way to St Martha’s Hill, before heading back to Guildford Station via Pewley Down and the castle.
Possible pub stop at the end of walk. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink.
