This 4 mile circular walk along the River Arun and around Swanbourne Lake will whet the appetite for the rest of the trip, and will lead into the evening social.

This walk is part of the Around Arundel trip. If you are not already signed up for the trip, but wish to attend this walk, booking is required via the form here.

Pace: gentle.

Walk details

Please note: There will be a second walk start at 6pm at Jubilee Gardens by Arundel Bridge, to save anyone already in Arundel town centre a walk out to the station, only to immediately retrace their steps.

This short figure-of-8 walk takes us around a wide meander of the River Arun. Arundel Castle will be visible along this entire section of the walk. We leave the river close to the boundary of Arundel Wetland Centre. The second half takes us on a full loop of Swanbourne Lake, an artificial lake within the landscaped boundaries of Arundel Park (Arundel Park will feature more prominently in Thursday’s walk). The walk will finish outside the Red Lion pub in Arundel High Street, in time for the evening social.
