Meet outside Milford Station in time for a 10:10am start. If coming from Reading, take the 9:04 departure (9:13am Wokingham) and change at Guildford (arr: 9:47 dep 9:52). If you plan on driving to this walk, then either park at Guildford, and join the train there (charges apply), or park at Haslemere and take the 9:39am departure (arr Milford at 9:49)

A new area for the group. This hilly walk is graded challenging due to the distance and the ascent. After leaving Milford station, we have a stretch of pavement walking. We then walk through the heathland and woodland of Bagmoor Common Nature Reserve. Passing by Warren Mere lakes, we then walk through Thursley National Nature Reserve and the village of Thursley. After leaving Thursley, we follow tracks and lanes to Hindhead Common and the Devil’s Punchbowl.

We will head to the viewpoint at Gibbet Hill, before picking up the Greensand Way, which we follow into Haslemere.

Possible pub stop en route and/or stop for cake at the Devils Punchbowl Cafe

May be muddy in places.

Note: This is a linear walk. Buy a return to Haslemere.
