Meet at the bus stop in Nettlebed at 11:00. The walk leader will be on the 10:05 bus (X38 River Rapids) from stop FC in Friar Street (by Monk’s Retreat). If this bus is delayed the start of the walk will be too. The bus can also be caught from the north side of Reading Station. Alternatively, please park considerately in Nettlebed village.

The walk takes us mostly on lanes and bridleways through the Chilterns – expect lots of rolling hills, woodland, large houses and lovely views, with the odd bluebell or calf.

We will start off heading towards Ipsden and Hailey where we’ll stop t the King William pub – a favourite for its fabulous views across the countryside! We will pick up the Ridgeway towards the end of the walk through Grim’s Ditch (which is actually nice!) and the Chiltern Way.

Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water.

Update: On our return to Reading, some of us are planning on paying a visit to Cheese Feast, which takes place in Forbury Gardens from 11th-14th April.  Cheese Feast is run by the people behind the popular Feastival.  Please feel free to join us!
