This 10.5 mile walk from Pangbourne and includes a walk along the Thames, woods, fields and a pub stop.

Walk details

We will start by walking north through Whitchurch-on-Thames joining Hartslock Bridleway, walking alongside the Thames until we reach Hartslock nature reserve. At this point we head away from the Thames to walk through a forest and on quiet roads. During this part of the walk we will have lunch before arriving at Whitchurch Hill, which is where we will have our pub stop. After suitable refreshment we will walk through another wood before returning to Whitchurch-on-Thames and Pangbourne. There is the option of another pub stop at the end.

Travel details

We will meet outside of Pangbourne station at 10:35, which is just after the 10:25 from Reading is due to arrive.

Car parking options include the station or Station Road car park a few minutes walk from the station.

Notes

  • If you or someone else from your household has COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend.
  • Please be considerate to other path users and step aside to let people past – and don’t forget to say ‘hi’ or ‘thanks’!
  • Please bring a packed lunch and a drink.
  • It might be muddy – please wear suitable footwear.
  • If it’s a rainy day, please bring waterproofs.
