The walk will start from Pangbourne Public Car Park in Station Road at 11:30am, which is a 5 minute walk from Pangbourne Station. If coming by train, take the 11:14am departure from Reading Station, which arrives at Pangbourne Station at 11:22am. The walk leader will be on this train, and will walk with those travelling by train to the start point. If the train is delayed, the start of the walk will be too.
The walk, although short, is quite varied. We start by following the Thames Path through Pangbourne Meadow. We will then make our way along tracks and lanes to Sulham Wood, where the leaves will be in their autumn splendour. After leaving the wood, we follow the Pang back to Pangbourne.
We will be joined on this walk by the Media & PR Manager from Ramblers, along with a photographer and videographer. The aim of the walk is to publicise the Ramblers’ Festival of Winter Walks and also how joining a walking group can help alleviate loneliness. The photographer and videographer will be taking photos/videos. If you have a Christmas jumper, feel free to wear it!
Please bring a packed lunch (festive themed if you wish!) and something to drink. Possible pub stop at the end of walk.
