Meet at St Thomas Church, Lymington on the High street at 10:30am. There are plenty of Long stay car park all around Lymington, the closest to the church is the Town Hall long stay car park (SO41 9ZG), Remember change for the car park. Saturday is market day in Lymington, (still true in October) so there will be opportunity to have a look at the local produce and get lunch provisions there before the walk. Or there is also a nice farm shop on the way to Lymington (www.setleyridge.co.uk).

The walk comes south from Lymington and meanders through the Pennington Salt Marshes alongside the Solent. Walking through the Keyhaven nature reserve there is the opportunity to rest at the Gun Inn for a drink. The optional extension from here is a 2 mile trip along the spit to Hurst castle (National Heritage Property) before returning to Keyhaven. From Keyhaven we walk through woods and fields to Lower Pennington and stop at the Chequers Inn pub specialising in local ciders. After a small respite it is a short walk back into Lymington where the plan may be to have fish and chips sitting on the dock of the bay.
