Come and join us on Bank Holiday Thursday for a 7.5 mile jaunt around Aldermaston as part of our weekend of the Queen’s Jubilee Weekend of Walks.

Booking is required for this walk, which is limited to 30 walkers, via the form here.

Pace: gentle.

Walk details

This is the first of our Queen’s Jubilee Weekend of walks!

This walk will take us away from the station and over the fish bridge before heading off towards Padworth College and the chance to visit the beautiful Padworth Church. We will find a suitable spot to stop to enjoy our packed lunches too!

Continuing on our walk we will continue through Padworth before heading into Padworth Common (you might get the chance to spot a deer or hearing a cuckoo). This time of year the foliage along the paths are starting to grow like crazy so be aware of any stray stinging nettles!

After Padworth Common we start heading back down towards the Kennet and Avon Canal crossing some open farm fields and joining up with part of the Berkshire Circular Route walks.

The final part of this walk will bring us back into Aldermaston along the Canal. Here you will get the chance to stop off at the little café along the canal for maybe a cup of tea and a slice of cake or an ice cream. If you don’t want to stop, the station is a short walk along the canal.
