This is a linear walk starting at 13:15 from Hungerford railway station (south side). This is shortly after the arrival of the 12:39 from Reading which arrives in Hungerford at 13:12. If the train is delayed, the start of the walk will be too. Parking is also available at the station, where charges apply.

PLEASE NOTE: this walk is twinned with the social happening later the same day – info here

Transport back to Hungerford station is available for those who are attending the social. If you do not want to come to the social, you will need to arrange your own transport at the end of the walk.

The walk begins by following the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal westwards for a short while before turning off and crossing the border into Wiltshire. A small stretch of quiet road leads us to Littlecote where we pass the rather elegant hotel (Henry VIII wooed Jane Seymour here back in the day!) as well as the Roman Villa which is home to some pretty impressive mosaics.

The River Kennet will then lead us gently into Rambsury itself where we just happen to pass a pub (The Bell). Once refreshed we stick mainly to footpaths all the way to the Brewery, where the social will begin at 6pm.

The walk leader will be setting a good pace for this ramble to ensure we make it to the brewery in time!

Please bring any snacks you’ll want to eat along the way – as well as plenty of water. Due to the late start of this walk we will not be having a lunch stop.

NOTE: This is a linear walk
