Our friends at our sister group the Berkshire Weekend Walkers are organising a night out in central Reading which you’re all welcome to come to, particularly if you like European beer. On 13th October, Station Hill will play host to the fantastic festival of German beer, food and culture that is Oktoberfest. Here’s some further details from BWWs organiser Jean-Paul…

This year Reading celebrates 70 years of being twinned with Dusseldorf and what better way to celebrate? A huge Oktoberfest party hosted in our huge touring Bier tent! Live Bavarian music acts and entertainment. Steins of authentic German Bier. Traditional Oktoberfest Food. The Reading Oktoberfest is at Station Hill event space, outside Reading station (town centre side).

The Friday evening session runs from 6pm to 11pm. Entry is £17.50 per person, which includes reserved seating and your first pint of beer. Please buy your own ticket (using the “Tickets” link at the top of the page, or by clicking here) and contact Jean-Paul to let him know you’re going. He will arrange a time and place to meet up, and let everyone know.

The train station, as the venue name suggests, is a mere stone’s throw away.
