I am leading a walk on my 31st birthday. This is a 6 mile circular walk from Reading to Sonning following the route along the Thames footpath and along the river.

NOTE: The description previously stated incorrectly that there would be a lunch stop, which is not the case. There’s the opportunity to stay for a late lunch at the pub at the end, but please bring a snack if you’re likely to be hungry before then!

Booking is required for this walk, which is limited to 20 walkers, via the form here.

Walk details

This is an easy 6-mile circular walk starting from Reading walking along the Thames footpath to Sonning, before making our way back to Reading, where there’s the option to stay for drinks and/or food at the Three Guineas next to the station. (There will not be a lunch or pub stop during the walk itself.) The Thames footpath is quite narrow in places and a bit uneven underfoot, but it’s a lovely route along the river.
