No, we’re not going on a mass trespass… however, this short but hilly linear walk from Hambleden does finish at the Rebellion brewery on the edge of Marlow!

Walk details

After a gentle start across fields, this walk makes its way into the wooded hills west of Hambleden, descending back into the picturesque village and following the paths to the east through a mixture of open hillsides and woodland, following part of the Chiltern Way through Bovingdon Green before making our way into Marlow Bottom where the walk finishes.

Those who wish to can take the opportunity to visit Rebellion Beer Co.’s tap yard here for some welcome refreshment before heading home!

Although the walk is only 7.5 miles, it is graded moderate because the route is quite hilly. Some of the paths could be muddy, so please wear suitable footwear. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water.

Travel details

The start and end points are both on the Arriva 800/850 bus routes between Reading and High Wycombe. From Reading, please take the 850 bus at 09:42 from Friar Street to Hambleden Mill End and walk the short distance up Skirmett Road to the start point. The walk leader will be on this bus (though joining a few stops later) so if it is delayed then the start of the walk will be too. Return buses run every half hour at the end of the walk. From the Reading direction, ask for a return to Marlow Bottom to cover both journeys.

If driving, either park in the Hambleden Mill End car park (charges apply) at the start of the walk and then take the bus back at the end, or park legally and considerately in Marlow Bottom (near SL7 3LT) and take the 850 bus just after 10:15 from Wycombe Road to the start point.
