The walk will start shortly after the arrival of the 11:04 am train from Reading (11:13 am Wokingham), which arrives at Sandhurst at 11:21 am. The walk leader will be on this train, so if it is running late then the start of the walk will be delayed too.
The route looks a bit like a pair of sunglasses, so fingers crossed the weather will be kind to us and we’ll also be needing to wear a pair!
We will start by making our way through Little Sandhurst and the Edgbarrow Woods Nature Reserve. The walk will then take us past Coalpit Copse and gradually uphill until we reach the Finchampstead Ridges for a scenic lunch stop.
After lunch we will head south and join the Blackwater Valley Way as it meanders through the Moor Green Lakes Nature Reserve. We will then follow the Three Castles Path past Horseshoe Lake before heading back towards Sandhurst.
Possible pub stop at the end of the walk.
As usual, please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink.
