Today’s walk starting from the sleepy village of Shipham takes us out to the the wilderness of Black Down; where although maybe a little boggy we should be treated to lovely views. We head south to the remarkable Chedder Gorge tackling a steep incline but it is worth it. We will pause to take in the view as and when the need arises.

We descend to Chedder itself via Jacobs Ladder where there will be ample opportunity to seek refreshments, have a toilet stop or even partake in a game of crazy golf. We continue on gentler ground fit a while before we partake in a steep climb towards end of the walk. Please bring snacks, lunch if desired and plenty of water to keep hydrated.

Note – this is a hilly walk, occasionally boggy and stony underfoot and ideally suited only for the those who have a reasonable level of fitness. Regulars in the group should be fine, if you have any doubts please contact walk leader.

This walk is part of our Wells Weekend Away
