Meet outside the north exit of Slough station (at the rear, nearest platform 5) in time for a 10.15am start. At the time of writing, the 09.55 service from Reading is due to arrive at 10.12am, but please check with National Rail Enquiries nearer the time if you plan to arrive by train. You may wish to buy a return ticket to Windsor & Eton Central, where the walk will end.
This is a flat walk on mostly well-maintained paths, some of which the group has almost certainly never used before! After a short stretch of road, we will follow a zig-zag route to Windsor, featuring parts of the Grand Union Canal, Ditton Park, Upton Court Park, Jubilee River and the River Thames. As usual, please bring a packed lunch to eat along the way. There will be the opportunity for a pub stop at the end of the walk in Windsor or Eton. Trains run from Windsor back to Slough every 20 minutes.
