Due to Government and Ramblers restrictions, places are limited on all of our walks. Please do not turn up for a walk without prior booking via the Google form, as we will have to turn you away.
Due to COVID-19, we all need to take extra steps to stay safe. Please follow all safety advice given by the walk leader, including the latest guidelines on physical distancing while out walking.
Please follow the latest government guidelines on the use of public transport and car sharing. It is recommended that you bring hand sanitizer or gloves in case you need to touch gates/stiles/etc. It is also recommended that you bring a face covering, in case of emergencies. If you or someone else from your household has COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend.
Meet at Mereoak Park and Ride (near M4, Junction 11) for a 10.30am start. Parking is available at the park and ride for £1 for the day. Also there are plenty of buses available from Reading to the park and ride.
The bus departure time is 09.58am from Bus Stop 60m (bus stop is on Station Road outside Coral’s) and due to arrive at Mereoak Park and Ride at 10.23am. If the bus is late, the start of the walk will be too.
After the success of our litter pick from a few weeks ago we are doing another one. The Keep Britain Tidy campaign in partnership with The Ramblers had to be postponed from earlier this year due to the Coronavirus. |
We are now pleased to announce that the ‘Great British September Clean’ is happening in its place. We will be holding our own litter pick at the Mereoak Park and Ride. So why not come along and join us to help clear small part of Berkshire of litter!
There will only be a maximum of 6 spaces on this socially distanced event.
Littler picking equipment (litter pickers, gloves and bags) will be provided for this walk. We will be collecting discarded litter from along the footpaths of the walk.
As we meander our way through the Berkshire countryside for a couple of hours, south of Reading from the Park and Ride we will walk parallel with the A34 before walking back through Spencer’s Wood. This is a very easy walk which is flat. The footpaths may be a bit muddy so please wear suitable footwear. Please bring something to drink.
Book a place on this walk by completing the Google Form. We will only use the contact information you provide to get in touch about the walk, or to share if requested with NHS Test and Trace. If you wish to bring a friend, then you must BOTH complete the booking form.
