Pace: medium.

Walk details

We will walk on mainly soft terrain with some road walking in parts with limited elevation. If you are a fan of pigs this could be the walk for you as we are likely to come across a few today. However, you will not be allowed to take a piglet home with you.

Although a relatively short walk that we aim to complete by lunch time to avoid the worst of the summer heat (right, I’m bound to have jinxed it!) please ensure to bring a snack with you to keep you going. There may be option for a pub stop for a snack or maybe even brunch but that can not be guaranteed with any stop at the walk leaders discretion. It will, however, be too early for alcohol!

At the end of the walk you may wish to explore Ewelme’s Saint Mary’s church where Thomas Chaucer (son of Geoffrey) and Jerome K Jerome are buried. It is worth a look round if you have not visited before at a cost of an optional donation.

Travel details

By car

There is unfortunately no public transport to this walk, but the walk leader is happy to offer a lift for up to three people from Reading. Otherwise if you need a lift please ask on the BW Facebook group (members only) or the Meetup event page.
