A walk in the Surrey Hills visiting Newlands Corner, St Martha’s Church and parts of the Pilgrims Way.

Advance booking is not required, but if you plan on attending this walk, please indicate this on Meetup if you can, so others can see that there will be plenty of people going.

Walk details

The walk will start outside Guildford station before heading up into the the Surrey Hills via Bewley Down. The walk then descends through open fields before ascending to Newlands Corner (We will stop here briefly for a toilet break and possible ice creams).

After visiting Newlands Corner the walk descends through open fields below Newlands Corner before ascending up to St Martha’s church. The walk then continues on through Chantries wood before heading out to the edge of the wood for good views across the Surrey hills.

Finally we descend onto the Wey navigation back into Guildford.

From Reading please take the 09:50 service to Gatwick Airport, getting off at Guildford at 10:31.

By car

Guildford town centre and station have a range of parking options. Parking charges are likely to apply.
