Walk details

After two successful double headers last year, we are bringing them back once again for this summer! You have the choice of doing the shorter first part, the longer second part or both! Please note that you if you would like to complete the full 13 and a half miles, you must sign up for both this walk, along with Part 2.

This part will take us to the west of Windsor towards Eton Wick and Dorney. We will follow the Thames Path out towards Eton Wick before cutting back through the village and on to the Jubilee river. We will then follow this and under the A332 before shadowing the Slough-Windsor branch and ending up at the back of Eton College. We will then wander through Eton back towards Windsor and you can choose to join in for a group lunch in the field behind the Watermans Arms on the river, or depart us here with a short interval before part 2!

Travel details

By public transport

If coming from Reading, please get the 09:56 and change at Slough for the 10:16, arriving into Windsor and Eton Central at 10:22. If coming from other locations like Ascot, please ask the walk leader for options of what trains to get. Meet on the station concourse, just off the platforms.

By car

There are plenty of parking options in Windsor town centre, including Alma Road and Alexandra Gardens, which are long stay car parks. Please allow plenty of time before the walk starts to drive to Windsor and park as the town tends to get very busy at the weekends! Meet on the station concourse, through the mall.

Notes

  • If you or someone else from your household has COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend.
  • Please bring a packed lunch and a drink.
  • Please feel free to contact the leader with queries about the walk, or if you are delayed on the day.
