Walk details

Meeting at Hook station car park, we will head out via the edge of Hook common walking towards Nately Scures, entering woodland to take us to the little hamlet of Andwell.

Crossing over the M3 we’ll follow a path through fields towards 5 Lanes End, where we may see a glimpse of Basingstoke in the distance. At 5 Lanes End we’ll take the track to Greywell Moors where we’ll follow the board walk along the moor edge.

From the moors we’ll head into Odiham passing All Saints Church and the village stocks before walking down the high street.

At this point we’re now well on our way back to Hook, exiting Odiham High Street into fields that once were a Royal Deer Park created for King John in the 1200s.

We’ll then briefly follow the Basingstoke canal with views back towards Odiham and the Deer Park, before heading into another field and crossing the river Whitewater. Following the Whitewater under the A287, we skirt by Newlyns Farm and back towards the M3.

Once over the M3 the we finally cross Bartley Heath on our way back to Hook station.
