The climbs on this hike brings back memories of the foothills of the Nepali Himalaya for the walk leader without a doubt. Okay, we have sea and not snow peaked mountain tops to admire. Unless we go horribly wrong!

Meet at the free car park at Trentishoe Down, just before the turning to Trentishoe for a 10.30am start. We pick up the South West Coast path fairly early on over potentially quite boggy ground. We make a
couple of steep climbs and descents admiring the coves and beaches below before pausing a while at Heddons Mouth.

Having climbed up again, we move from soft terrain to something harder at West Woodbay Wood. We could visit the coast a final time today although we may wish to conserve our energy for another steep climb to Martinhoe. For a brief while we walk on flat land; yes, really. But fear not, a sharp descent greets us soon as our taste buds take us to Hunters Inn. Suitably refreshed, what next? Another hill. Hooray! Not
as steep as some of the others though.

The route concludes over some woody terrain with perhaps the steepest climb of the lot. Sorry about that.

A good degree of fitness will be required to get the best out of the walk, please don’t take the distance to literally. The regulars in the group should be fine however.
