*UPDATE* Please note that we’ve had to delay the start of the walk by 1 hour, due to the train from Reading being cancelled. The new start time will be 11:30. If you are coming from Reading, you should now get the 11:10 train to Aldermaston.

This 7 miles circular walk from Aldermaston takes in fine views over the Kennet valley, pleasant woodland and fields, and a chance to see wolves!

Booking is required for this walk, via the form here.

Walk details

From the station we will walk up the hill to Beenham Church and from there, on to Bradfield Southend and Tutts Clump. On the return, we walk past the headquarters of the UK Wolf Conservation Trust, which gives the walk its name. Seeing wolves (through the fences) is not guaranteed, but they have been seen on the two previous occasions I’ve led this walk for the group! Shortly afterwards, we’ll stop for lunch on Beenham village green. There is the option of a pub stop at the Six Bells in Beenham. After that, we return to Aldermaston. If there is a long wait for the hourly trains, the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust tea room and the Butt Inn pub are both close to the station.
