Starting at the car park at the eastern end of Greenham Common (SU523645) at 10.30, we’ll follow the disused Old Thornford Road towards Headley before heading across the wetland footpaths to Goose Hill. Footpaths across fields will take us to Ashford Hill and The Ship Inn for a drinks stop. Our walk then heads up onto Crookham Common for a short distance, before heading back to the wetlands and the Old Thornford Road.

Please sufficient food and drink for the day. Some paths will be muddy and may be waterlogged: it is advisable to have good waterproof footwear and gaiters. There is no/limited public transport to the start point, so please car share if you can; however Thatcham station is a mile away, should you want to catch a train and walk to the start (it’s recommended that you find an off-road route as this is a busy road – contact the leader for suggestions).
