Join the organiser on the this walking weekend and social exploring the Vale of the White Horse, the Ridgeway, and the area around Uffington.

The weekend will be based at Britchcombe Farm Campsite, which lies at the foot of the Uffington White Horse, and offers plenty of the usual amenities, including showers, toilets, cafe, and open camp fires. They also offer rentable yurts and teepees for those not keen on embracing the full camping experience.
A full range of facilities can be found on the Farm website.
The plan is to camp there for 2 nights – arriving late afternoon/evening on Friday 7th and departing on Sunday 9th September.

There will be walks organised on both Saturday and Sunday, so please keep an eye on the walks calendar for more information.

If the sun is shining there will be a BBQ social on the saturday evening. If the weather isn’t so kind, then there will be a trip to the Fox and Hounds pub in Uffington as an alternative.

Hope to see you there!

Update: The organiser of the trip has made a group reservation for up to 15 people to camp at the site ( A deposit has also been paid). There are still some places left so there is still time to contact the organiser and reserve a place. Camping is very reasonable at just £8 per person per night!
Please note the organiser will initially pay the total sum for this group reservation and will then expect you to pay him on the day when you arrive.

Update from the organiser:

We now have the  walks for both days live up on the website, please click here for more details –
Day 1
Day 2
The weather is looking promising so far, so for the campers, the plan for arrival on Friday evening (7th) is to have a big group BBQ from 7.30pm – bring along whatever food & drink you fancy, and we’ll supply some BBQs and firewood for the evening.
For the campers, and anyone extra joining us for Saturday’s walk – the walk will end with an evening group meal at the White Horse Inn, Woolstone, where they serve fantastic wood-fired pizzas.
Please let the walk leader (me, Mark) know if you’re joining us, so that I can book tables beforehand.
If you still tempted by the weekend but haven’t signed up, let me know if you’d like to join us camping.
Otherwise, if you’re thinking of just coming for the day on one of the walks you’re very welcome, especially if we can coordinate some lift sharing via the BW FB page.
See you all in a week!!
