The Berkshire Walkers turns 20 this year, and we had a number of events planned to mark the occasion, including a 20 mile walk on the 20th June. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, this walk has been cancelled.
Not wanting the anniversary to go unmarked, we are instead setting the group a walking challenge!
The challenge is to walk 20 miles on the weekend of the 20th. This can be one long walk of 20 miles, or you can split the distance between Saturday and Sunday. You could even walk 12.4 miles (20km) one day, and the remaining 7.6 miles the other day. It would be great if as much of the 20 miles as possible is in Berkshire.
You may have seen details of our scavenger hunt. This weekend is the perfect opportunity to find as many of the items as possible on the list! In other words, ‘find 20 for the 20th whilst walking 20 miles on the weekend of the 20th’!
Daisy, our Social Sec, will be creating a video to mark the weekend. If you can, please create short videos (in LANDSCAPE MODE only please) of part of your walk. If you are walking in socially distanced groups of no more than 6, then try to include your walking buddies in the video! Please send videos to Daisy at socialevents@berkshirewalkers.co.uk by 9am on Monday 22nd June. Please include the location of where you walked.
For those of you not able to walk that weekend, there will be some live streamed walks too!
