Are you yet to lead a walk? Have you led a few walks with the Berkshire Walkers or have you led many? This training is open to all! On this day we aim to give people the confidence to lead walks well, to know how to respond to challenging situations or changing environmental conditions and above all how to enjoy leading! Everyone who already leads for the group will know some of the things we will cover in this training, but I hope that there is something here of relevance to everyone – perhaps there are some things you have never thought about or situations that haven’t arisen on the walks that you have led so far.

The walk will start from Aldermaston Station at 10.30. This is after the arrival of the 10.09 train from Reading (arrives 10.21) and the 10.12 train from Newbury (arrives 10.25). I don’t want to give too many details of the walk away as those that come will all get an opportunity to lead sections of it! The route will lead us from Aldermaston to Silchester and back again. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water with you. Good waterproof footwear is also advisable as there has been a lot of rain in recent weeks and paths tend to be quite wet and muddy at this time of year. Please note also, that you need to sign up for this event. To get the most out of the training and for everyone to be involved we need to keep the numbers at a manageable level so there are 8 places available. To get yourself a spot on the course, just send me an email. Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. I look forward to seeing you there!
