The walk will start at 9:50 from Watlington Hill National Trust car park in Christmas Common.  The car park is on Hills Road, and signposted.  As this is a popular car park used by numerous walking groups, it may get full quickly so please car share where possible.

We will head out of Christmas Common and through various Chiltern woods and pastures towards Turville, which is best known as the setting of the Vicar of Dibley. Grandpa Potts’ windmill home in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang also overlooks the village. We will then head through Southend and on towards Stonor Deer Park, the first of two opportunities this month to pass through this historic country estate. We will have an ice cream/tea and cake stop at the recently opened pitstop café. The final section of the walk will then follow the Oxfordshire Way back to Christmas Common with a pub stop at the Fox and Hounds.

As this is a long walk, please bring plenty to eat and drink – there will be at least one lunch stop. Although the terrain is mostly gently sloping/flat, there are a couple of sections in some of the woodlands that are short and steep so having sugary snacks to hand is advised.
