An alternative option to Saturdays longer hike, this fairly easy stroll hopes us to capture the bluebells in their full colour. The area scoped out has a good reputation although their appearance is not guaranteed, we will be offering no refunds!

We will meet at the layby near The Maltsters Arms Public House (not the pub itself). Parking is limited so if regulars can arrange to car share it would be appreciated.

The route today takes us in a northerly direction towards Lambridge Hill and then veer west exploring the lands to the south of Bix. The walk concludes via Grey’s Court where the bluebells could be at their most spectacular. Most of the walk is over soft terrain passing through fields and woodland. There are a few hills to tackle with a couple of short, steepish climbs which makes this a “moderate walk”. We will take our time to ascend, pausing if and when required.

Please bring packed lunch and something to drink. Optional pub stop at end of walk.

If anyone requires a lift please get in touch a few days in advance and I will try to arrange from Reading station.
